My Music Magazine - Double Page Spread (Final)

For my final Music Magazine double page spread I made a few changes from my first try. These were:

-I added 2 more questions and answers.
-I added and introductory paragraph to the interview.
-I added an image of the album cover.
-I re-edited the images to make them less choppy and pixelated.
-I used exclamation marks because my target audience is teenagers. (13-19)
-I changed the layout of the double page spread by adding colums to make it fit the codes and conventions of other magazines.

My Music Magazine - Contents Page (Final)

For my final Music Magazine contents page I made one change from my first try. This was:

-I added another issue album so that the numbers go to nearly 30.

My Music Magazine - Front Cover (Final)

For my final Music Magazine front cover I made a few changes from my first try. These were:

-I added an issue date as my first try was missing one
-Lastly I changed the words 'Special Edition' to 'Special Christmas Edition'.

My Music Magazine - Ideas For The Photo-shoot

I have been thinking about my photo shoot and have decided to do it in the studio on a black backdrop to remove any background trafficking. I have also decided to use my fellow media student: Harriet Hagen to be my model for the role of "Liv Peck". Lastly I decided not to use any props or costumes because I need to get the photo-shoot done in a short space of time and adding these things would make it more complicated.

My Music Magazine - Interview For Double Page Spread?

I have decided to make my music magazines double page spread questions and answers from the chart topping artist: Liv Peck. This was decided because my target audience is teenagers (13-19) and therefore I figured that they wouldn't want to be reading massive chunks of writing, they'd much rather have simplicity.

My Music Magazine - Genre Of Magazine

From the results of my questionnaire I have decided my genre of my music magazine to be pop. This is because there are many areas to explore of this genre, also with my audience being 13-19 it fits in well. The title of this magazine is going to be "Pop Of The Charts" as you can see from the previous post.

My Music Magazine - Stereotypes

I decided that teenagers would be my target audience from the results in the questionnaire that I handed out. This was because the majority of the artists and bands were in the pop category and from the research that I gathered teenagers are a stereotype for pop music.

My Music Magazine - Masthead (Tally Chart)

I carried out a tally chart to ask my peers what  I should call my music magazine. The name 'Pop Of The Charts' won this tally, therefore this is what I will be using as my masthead. I found that it would be a good idea to do this and ask the target audience that I received from the questionnaire. This was because they would have a better idea of what to call my music magazine and would be a catchy name for that specific audience.

My Music Magazine - Deciding The Masthead

I am going to carry out a tally chart to decide what the name of my music magazine should be. The names that will be in the tally chart I will have come up with. These mastheads are:

·         Nottingham Pop Music

·         Pop Of The Charts

·         Music Of The Month

·         Pop Pop Pop!

·         Pop Of The Month

My Music Magazine - Audience Questionnaire

I carried out a questionnaire where I asked lots of people around me many questions. As a result of all of the feedback I received I have chosen my audience to be teenagers. (13-19) This is because many of the answers chosen suit this age range.

College Magazine Contents Page - Final Draft

This is the final draft of my "College Magazine Contents Page." I managed to improve my contents page to suit my liking whilst sticking to the house style. I completed this by adding all of the page numbers to the stories in the contents page, as well as adding more stories to fill in the small gaps. I think that my contents page now has a more professional look than it did in my first draft.

College Magazine Contents Page - First Draft

This is the first draft of my "College Magazine Contents Page" Throughout the course of this magazine I kept the same house style and layout on both the front cover and contents page. However I aim to make the contents page better by:

  • Page numbers for an easier access and a more professional look.
  • More stories to fill in the gaps.

My College Magazine - Difference between images

For this image that I used on my front cover, I removed the background in the image so that I could place it on a plain background without and disturbance form the original image. I also sharpened the image so that it look more clear and less pixelated.

College Magazine Front Cover - Final Draft

This is the final draft of my "College Magazine Front Cover" It gives off a more professional feel than my first draft, I found this to be because i added the white strip along the bottom with an advertisement.

College Magazine Front Cover - First Draft

This is the first draft of my "College Magazine Front Cover" Throughout the course of this magazine I kept the same house style and layout. There is proof of this because the same font and colours for the main masthead have been used. However I aim to make this better by adding an advertisement on a strip of white along the bottom of the magazine. I think that this bring the whole front cover together.
